I headed over to The Shed End forum to ask the questions, the response was decent. I didn’t post all the replies so check out the link if you want to read a few more. The questions asked this week were:

1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle?
2 – You signed Loic Remy in the summer, what are your thoughts on him? Better than Ba?

Chelsea 1st, Newcastle 10th

2 – You signed Loïc Rémy in the summer, what are your thoughts on him? Better than Ba?
He’s more lethal for sure but overall play I think maybe Ba was better in some aspects

3 – What young players could make an impact?
I really hope Ake gets more game time and I’m dying to see Boga get a run out in the first team

4 – What would you rather win this season, the Champions League or the Premier League?
Premier League been too long since we won it, would love the CL but now we’ve done it doesn’t feel quite as important somehow

5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why?
Strange question lol guess Zola because he’s my favourite player ever

6 – What have you made of Didier Drogba’s return? Was it a worthy signing?
Yes great backup, proving it everytime he plays

7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit?
Another strange one lol Maryland Cookies are my fave so I’ll say those

8 – Can you go the season unbeaten?
We can but we won’t

9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider?
Very dangerous team especially at home, think Pardew is a decent manager too and you should keep him

10 – Scoreline prediction?
1-2 Chelsea but fear the worst

1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle?
Chelsea will finish 1st and Newcastle will finish 8th.

2 – You signed Loïc Rémy in the summer, what are your thoughts on him? Better than Ba?
Despite not having played a lot of games I think Remy has been a worthy acquisition to the side! I think he’s been a better performer and finding the net more often than Demba Ba was when he was at the club for eighteen months

3 – What young players could make an impact?
Nathan Ake and Kurt Zouma are the obvious ones for mine but one I’m really keen to keep a close eye on is Bertrand Traore.

4 – What would you rather win this season, the Champions League or the Premier League?
I would love to win both competitions without question but out of the two probably the EPL as our drought since we won it is coming up to five years now and seeing Jose reclaim the title would be a dream come true and potentially a start of a dynasty!

5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why?
Frank Lampard! Legendary player!

6 – What have you made of Didier Drogba’s return? Was it a worthy signing?
Initially I was very skeptical of re-signing him as I thought he had the fairytale finish in 2012 but he’s been excellent in many ways providing leadership, experience, presence and whenever he’s played he’s looked like scoring. For a guy that was always going to be a second or third striker I think he’s been great for us.

7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit?
Like Sezze786 said, I’m not a biscuit guy either.

8 – Can you go the season unbeaten?
Who knows if we can go unbeaten or not but it’s very difficult to go unbeaten in a season. I expect us to slip up somewhere along the lines

9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider?
They’ve really hit form at the right time after a terrible start to the year. You have the potential to be a top 6 side if you’re consistent. Pardew is a strange one but he just has the ability to get back on track all the time when things start looking bad for him. In terms of the side itself, Newcastle have always caused us problems in the past so this upcoming match won’t be easy by any means.

10 – Scoreline prediction?
I’ve strongly thought that this might be the game where we slip up and lose our first game for the season. After all Newcastle has beaten us at St James’ Park in the last two seasons so no doubt we’ve got play to the best of our ability to win. I’m going to be very cautious and tip a 1-1 draw.

he’s a brilliant player, whenever Costa is out i have next to no fears seeing him start in his absence – he brings different qualities to our other forwards and compliments them well…even though he’s Costa’s backup, he’s essentially the player Torres should of been when we signed him, fast, strong, can shoot with either foot + ridiculous movement off the ball….and he’s a lot better than Ba

3 – What young players could make an impact?
Zouma!

4 – What would you rather win this season, the Champions League or the Premier League?
if we can only choose one, then the Premier League.

5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why?
Would love to lock William Gallas in my basement

6 – What have you made of Didier Drogba’s return? Was it a worthy signing?
Absolutely, both on and off the pitch.

7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit?
More of a cookie guy myself, sorry and no they aren’t the same thing!!!!!

8 – Can you go the season unbeaten?
I think so and hope so….so many Chelsea fans here are so pessimistic when it comes to ambitious goals like that, personally I think it’s a perfectly valid aim.

9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider?
You guys have been doing great as of late – but being brutally honest, i really wish you guys had of kept on losing, True Geordie’s YouTube channel is good in general but it’s in its absolutely f**king prime when Newcastle lose! You guys should do fine and i expect your lot to finish 8th-12th, most probably in the upper half.

Hopefully 1st. Newcastle 8 or 9th.

Definitely better than Ba, much quicker and hopefully will get more time.

Zouma, Baker

4 – What would you rather win this season, the Champions League or the Premier League?
Either would be amazing. Both would be ridiculous

Zola, he’s a gent

Absolutely

No idea, something strong and delicious, a gold bar maybe

Hate going there, always a hard game

Much Much better then Ba, Never wanted or rated Ba. Remy just a much better player

Good question. Hopes for Barker but looks like Ake is closest right now

PL every year

Will split this in 2. 1) For the sake of clealiness and knowing I wont have issues – Zola, Wisey or Luiz would have been great for a laugh

Was against it to begin with but with every game he is looking better and better.

No, league is tight

Hate playing them, always a tough game for us. Can’t fogrive the club for sacking bobby robson though and then to add insult to injury getting souness in in his place, a man not fit to be in the same room as the late great bobby

Better than Ba for sure. A better option than Drogba too, when we need pace.

3 – What young players could make an impact?
Ake. Been following him for a few years now and makes time on the ball which far exceeds his age.

4 – What would you rather win this season, the Champions League or the Premier League?
Premier League. We need to build a base in the EPL before we can really go to Europe and beat them all.

5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why?
Rooney . He can afford to pay a decent rent.

6 – What have you made of Didier Drogba’s return? Was it a worthy signing?
Mixed opinions. Good for a season and as a third option , but his pace has gone and he can’t beat a man like he used to. We really need 5 year plans and he would not be in them. Would love him to be a coach next year.

7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit?
Rich Tea . No matter how much of a soaking you give it, it remains intact.

8 – Can you go the season unbeaten?
No – and , to some degree I wish someone would beat us now. The reason being is that there is a danger we will go into games more concerned about not losing than winning. And that is not a good thing.

9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider?
Newcastle will never be a big club as long as Ashley is in charge. All he wants to do is (a) survive each season and (b) buy cheap and sell for a profit. The guy has zero long term ambition. So, as long as he remains you guys will just float around the table each year. Real shame that considering the fan base.

Zola’s Love Child

1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle?
Newcastle are a wierd bunch recently – I think the hot and cold spells will even out to be a mid-table/bottom of the top half finish. Tempting fate, but I’m struggling to see how we don’t win the league this year with how everything has gone so far.

2 – You signed Loïc Rémy in the summer, what are your thoughts on him? Better than Ba?
I liked Ba, but Remy is definitely an upgrade. My only concern with Remy is him being happy coming on and performing like he did against Tottenham. Cameos like that would be rewarded with big game starts in most teams, but with Diego it really isn’t that possible.

3 – What young players could make an impact?
None that will really make an impact, however I think Zouma will likely hit double figures for games this year across all competitions.

4 – What would you rather win this season, the Champions League or the Premier League?
Premier League, every time.

5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why?
Eidur Gudjohnsen. He seems like a lovely bloke – but quiet enough to not bug me as a housemate. Also I’d love to have a kick around with his young ‘uns and see how far they’ve developed since running around the Chelsea pitch on the final day of the season lap of honour.

6 – What have you made of Didier Drogba’s return? Was it a worthy signing?
Was skeptical at first, but now that his fitness is up, he shows more than the odd flash of the old Drogba. Great guy to have around.
7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be?
And why would it be that biscuit? Ummm…pass.

8 – Can you go the season unbeaten?
Certainly possible – however a war on mutliple fronts makes it somewhat unlikely.

9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider?
I actually lived in Fenham for a few years during university, so not much of an outsider. Great City, a good core of loyal fans, and one of the noisier home grounds these days.

10 – Scoreline prediction? 3-1 Chelsea for me.
